And then...Macquarie Springs Cocoa!!
Probably due to the lateness of shearing this year, and the stress...Daughter's shouts of 'Mum....there's another cria!!!' (29th Dec), didn't surprise me. It was Ambrosia's cria (Eclipse - sire) - a beautiful medium brown little girl with curls!!
Ambrosia is an excellent Mum, and had bonded with her gorgeous baby who was up and walking around with no problems. I was a bit sad that we had actually missed the birth, but very glad that it had all gone well.
A quick check of Ambrosia and she was all good, the placenta had been delivered and was intact, and the little cria was already getting a taste of milk. We felt very lucky to have received with minimum effort...Macquarie Springs Cocoa (what a cutie!)
