Baby wombats (joeys)

First thing in the morning...

We were able to go to Playgroup before 2y.o came down with his latest cold (and has cut all four molars at the same time - not much sleep to be had in our house!).  Our friend at playgroup comes with his Grandma, who also takes in and assists native animals in trouble.

We were lucky enough to watch her give one the the two-hourly feeds to a pair of baby wombats she bought with her.

Grandma is kept busy with the many animals and birds bought to her.  These pair were the result of the mother being hit by a car :(  Luckily for them, they will be fed up and released back into the wild as soon as they are old enough to fend for themselves.
